The Harvey family has a long history of serving seniors in the greater Boston area. Kara Harvey started personal caregiving services in the early 1990's. In 2012, she created an innovative adult-day program in Wayland called The Constance Rose House. The program provided much needed socialization to aging individuals and respite to their families. She continues to provide this wonderful service in many communities across the country through Elder-Well.
While caregiving for local families, Kara and her handy husband Ken Harvey noticed a need for reliable home maintenance and safety modifications for her clients. Ken, who had been in construction his entire professional career, quickly began home improvement services full-time in 2004.
Company and Family History
In 2015, their son Brian Harvey joined Ken in the senior-centric handyman business. As their capabilities grew, so did the demand for larger projects that would allow seniors to remain at home. In 2017, both Ken and Brian obtained their builder's licenses and began extensive interior remodeling projects.
Since 2018, Brian has owned and operated Harvey Home Modifications as a one-stop-shop Design + Build company for seniors. Projects now range from accessible bathrooms to entire home builds. Their portfolio includes ADA & AAB specified new home construction, projects over 6,500 sf, and some of the first Accessory Dwelling Units constructed in the Metro West.
