Shrewsbury, "AAB Specified Home"

Harvey Home Co. was tasked with building a completely accessible group home in Shrewsbury during the pandemic. This project required Architectural Access Board specifications, and we handled the entire process from conceptualization through construction. Specifications included a fire suppression system with a fire department call center, sprinklers, and a holding tank in the basement. The scope included a new septic system and ground up construction of a 4,600 sq. ft. facility. A virtual tour of the home is available HERE.

Harvey Home Co. purchased 2 Pollock Rd in Wayland to create a turnkey accessible home. The entire property was renovated with Universal Design techniques, creating a beautiful and safe home for the downsizing buyer. Wayland "Turnkey Home"

Wayland "ADU"

We had the privilege of constructing one of Wayland's first Accessory Dwelling Units. The scope included 2,500sf of new space incorporating a multi-level primary home addition, including two new bathrooms, a living room with a fireplace, a laundry room, and a master suite. Additionally, we constructed a two car garage with a completely independent second story ADU, equipped with a full kitchen, bathroom, laundry, living room, and one bedroom.

Westwood, "Luxury Spa Suite"

We created a luxurious spa-style bathroom for our clients who were inspired by Japanese baths. We created separate areas for the vanity, toilet, and bathing space. The bathing area includes numerous showerheads, a standalone tub, and even a light in the niche. The area outside of the bathing area includes a double vanity, heated floor, towel heater, and a private toiletting room.

Wayland, "Double Bathrooms"

As part of our client's long-term plan to remain home, we were tasked with two bathrooms at the same time. The second floor bathroom was created in a preexisting spare bedroom to service guests and potential future caregivers. The small first floor bathroom was converted into an accessible "wet room," permitting safe and convenient bathing under any level of physical condition.

Waltham, "French Door Wet Bath"

Our client had converted a half bath into a narrow full bathroom by taking space from a closet for the shower. He now requires a motorized wheelchair and was having trouble accessing the bathroom. We eliminated the existing door and partition wall leading to the bath, instead separating the room by a glass shower door in a "french door" arrangement. This allows for ample approach to the toilet and sink and creates a large shower floor footprint in a small space. Fixtures were arranged to accommodate vast differences in strength between between his hands.

Lexington, "Care-Focused Bath"

Renovated for a homeowner with significant equipment and caregiving requirements, this bathroom includes dozens of customer specific details. These include a large shower floor, high roll-under sink, various entrances, a pocket door on automatic slides, bidet toilet, designer grade grab bars, and shower controls that are easily accessible to caregivers.

Weston, "Half-to-Full Bath"

With stairs becoming a problem for our client in Weston, they decided to convert a first floor half-bath to a barrier free shower. This was planned with caregiver assistance in mind, arranging bathing fixtures and grab bars in strategic locations for the client and her family.

Acton, "Historic Bath Addition"

To accommodate a disabled child, this family in Acton required an addition to their beautiful historic home. We created an addition that blends into the structure, maintains consistent historic materials such as "pumpkin pine" flooring, and more importantly creates a walk-in closet and large bathroom tailored to their needs. The room includes a walk-in style tub that is perfect for comfortable and assisted bathing.

Newton, "Master Addition"

Having lived in the same Waban neighborhood for decades, this couple was committed to remaining home as long as possible. To make this work we built a rear addition to create a completely accessible master suite. The space includes a large bedroom, custom closets, in-unit laundry, and a wheelchair accessible bathroom.

Weston, "Restored Glory"

An aging couple who once managed home projects themselves found trouble keeping up. Additionally, their mobility suffered after numerous medical events. We were able to completely revamp the Tudor style house and create a wheelchair friendly home they could be proud of and live comfortably in.

Burlington, "Happy at Home"

Our clients required a suite to accommodate a disabled child with a significant exercise routine. Our solution was to build a completely accessible suite with a bedroom, bathroom that includes both a roll-in shower and jetted tub, a gym, and an indoor resistance pool.
